Hot Films 2015: The Walk
Don't look down.
Drama
Later this year, celebrated director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Flight) will present the story of high-wire artist Philippe Petit's famous 1974 walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center in The Walk.
This is not the first time this tale has appeared on the big screen, with the highly acclaimed documentary Man on Wire debuting in 2008. But we can expect Zemeckis to get a little crafty in his depiction of the dizzying, nauseating heights Petit reached.
Petit had been seized by the idea of performing between the towers since he saw the very first sketches of their design. His completely unauthorized stunt took six years to plan, culminating in a roughly 45 minute performance that enthralled New York.
Joseph Gordon Levitt will portray Petit in the film, with Ben Kingsley also starring. It will be released October 2, but check out the trailer below to ease the wait!
