Hot Films 2015: In the Heart of the Sea
The story that inspired Moby Dick
Drama
Director Ron Howard's latest, In the Heart of the Sea, looks equal parts harrowing and thrilling. The filmmakers apparently have confidence in it too, evidenced by the change in its US release date from March to December, in the heat of awards season. Fortunately for us in Ireland, the film has retained its original release date of March 13 (for now...).
In the Heart of the Sea tells the story of the whale ship Essex which was actually (really) attacked by a huge, seemingly vengeful sperm whale and sunk in 1820. The crew goes to great and terrible lengths to survive after being stranded in a handful of lifeboats.
The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy and Ireland's own Brendan Gleeson. Check out the trailer below while you wait for March!
