Listen to 'Where Do You Wanna Go' below.
Ahead of the release of his debut album Who's Your Dark Master? on Friday, May 22, Hey Jigsaw has shared the opening track, 'Where Do You Wanna Go'.
Hey Jigsaw is the new project from Dublin musician Alan Finnerty of post-punk trio Guilty Optics. 'Where Do You Wanna Go' finds him teaming up with Dave Prendergast of the Glimmermen on trumpet and Niamh Buckley on backing vocals, to offer a much-welcomed blast of escapism through reflections on exploring new places and sharing new experiences – while drawing influence from the San Diego indie scene.
“Who's Your Dark Master? relates to the idea that we all have our vices, some worse than others," Alan explains. "However, more specifically it relates to tracks on the album that deal with political ideology, power and inequality; for example, the second track ‘Made it on us’ which deals with the financial crash and austerity. Other songs deal with similar themes.”
Who's Your Dark Master? is out on May 22. Ahead of the release, take a look at the video for 'Where Do You Wanna Go' below:
