Hayley Williams: "New Fontaines is so good...Wish I wrote any of this poetry"
Hayley Williams has previously praised Fontaines D.C., saying they're "a band that generations from now are going to talk about."
Hayley Williams took to her Substack to share her support for Fontaines D.C. and call out critics of their new album Dopamine Chamber.
Williams described the album, released on October 16, as: "so good if you're not one of those guys on the internet who can't conceptualise that great bands are made of people who are multi-faceted and stylistically versatile."
She went on to say she wishes she wrote "any of this poetry," and that 'Demolition' and 'Happy For You' are her favourite tracks from the album. The Paramore frontman also said she "cannot wait" to open for the band next year at both Laneway Festival across Australia and New Zealand, as well as Slane Castle in Meath.
Extending the praise, she regarded Mud, new album from Remi Wolf, as having "vocal performances that rival some of my favourite recorded vocals of all time," and Troye Sivan's She's The Best's "combination of George/Jack/Leland/Oscar on production" and "the stream of consciousness and the yearning and the freedom in it," has her playing the record on repeat.
Williams also wrote that wave of new music at the moment is making her "very happy." The singer-songwriter has some time off until the next stop on her global The Hayley Williams Show tour, and is attempting to "keep my brain off and not be on the internet," but said she may post some smaller bands and artists she's listening to in the future.
Fontaines D.C. will be supported at the Slane Castle on June 26 and 27 next year by Hayley Williams, alongside Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach.
