Grammy Award-winning Aoife O’Donovan announces intimate Cork gig
The Irish-American singer has received international plaudits for her rendition of the Bruce Springsteen record Nebraska
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan has announced an intimate gig at DeBarra’s Folk Club, Clonakilty, Co. Cork on July 28 where she will perform Bruce Springteen’s 1982 album Nebraska in full.
O’Donovan has been dubbed ‘a vocalist of unerring instinct’ and has received seven Grammy nominations including a pair for her 4th studio album All My Friends.
The Irish-American songwriter has performed this album in venues around the world including London’s King’s Place, Cambridge Sanders Theatre and at the Newport Folk Festival.
“I first heard it sitting in the back seat of my dad’s car and I was terrified”, O’Donovan said about the record.
“I got really deep into the songwriting aspect of it. I was just floored at how he was able to paint such a vivid, stark picture.”
Tickets for the gig are available here.
