Gemma Hayes announces Autumn Irish tour
Tickets on sale now.
Tipperary singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes has announced an Irish tour, which will begin at Wexford Arts Centre in Wexford on September 18. It will include stops at Drogheda, Dublin, Galway, Ballina and Cork, before concluding at Dolan's in Limerick on November 7.
The fourth show of the tour, at Galway's Róisín Dubh, will mark one year since the release of Hayes' sixth album Blind Faith. Following the record's release, this past April, Hayes re-released its second track 'Central Hotel' as a single alongside an alternative mix by film soundtrack producer Marius de Vries of La La Land and Moulin Rouge credits.
"I'm really excited to tell you that I am bringing my brilliant band back out on the road this Autumn. It’s the culmination of a couple of years of hard work," Hayes said. "I am totally buzzed to be getting out around the country gigging again."
The tour will touch on Blind Faith as well as works from throughout Hayes' 20-year career in music, which began with her 2002 Mercury-nominated debut Night On My Side.
"I didn't get into music to be an entertainer," Hayes told Hot Press in 2022. "I got into music as a kind of healing process or a way of making life nicer or better. That was always in the music, and the fact that the music resonates with people is just the best feeling ever."
Hayes' music has also been featured in television. Her cover of Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game' has reached over 30 million streams after it appeared in the American series Pretty Little Liars and, more recently, her 2009 song ‘Oliver’ was included in the soundtrack of the Apple TV series Your Friends & Neighbours.
Tickets are on sale now on Hayes' website.
