Garbage announce Dublin gig
Tickets will go on sale on January 30 at 9AM on Ticketmaster.ie.
Alternative '90s alt-rock band Garbage have announced a Dublin gig, set to take place at the Iveagh Gardens on July 18.
After lead singer Shirley Manson was injured in 2024 from a fall from stage, the band was forced to halt their No Gods No Masters tour in 2025. Following the release of their eight album Let All That We Imagine Be The Light last May, Manson has gone through a hip operation and long recovery.
The frontwoman described what the injury meant to her and the band.
"It felt at the time like a curse, but I actually think it was a gift," she said. "It gave us a brand new shift in perspective".
Shirley Manson expressed she has changed her approach to making music after her struggles with health. She added that her bandmates Duke Erikson, Butch Vig, and Steve Marker had been working on music during the recovery.
"Each record feels like our last record. That’s how I always approach it," Manson explained. "Like, if you never, ever get to say or sing anything again, what is it that you’d like to say?"
Garbage were formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993 and they have released eight studio albums. Shirley Manson has described their 2025 record Let All That We Imagine Be The Light as "strong in a different way" compared to their previous work.
Tickets will go on sale on January 30 at 9AM on Ticketmaster.ie.
