Wareham will be playing his old band's material this February
Dean Wareham, formerly of American alt rockers Galaxie 500, is currently revisiting his old band's material live following the re-release of their three classic albums on Domino. Wareham is set to play The Workman's Club in Dublin on Friday February 11 as part of a three piece that features wife Britta Phillips and drummer Jason Lawrence.
Galaxie 500 formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1987 and recorded three studio albums (Today, On Fire and This Is Our Music) for Rough Trade. Despite much critical acclaim the group lasted a mere four years before disbanding in 1991. Wareham went on to front Luna and currently plays as one half of Dean and Britta with his wife.
The other two-thirds of Galaxie 500, Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang, continue to work together but are not involved in this latest trip down memory lane.
