Future Sounds festival returns to Portlaoise
Portlaoise's drink and drugs free festival is back this year, featuring up-and-coming acts 12 Gauge (pictured) and Saving J.
The Future Sounds festival is set to hit the CBS field, Portlaoise for the third time on July 26.
The festival, organised by local youth group APA, is a drink and drug free festival, organised this year in association with Barratstown children’s charity.
All acts performing at Future Sounds are young people looking for an opportunity to show case their talent. This year’s line-up includes rising acts 12 Gauge – who were runners-up in the Academy Battle of the Bands – Saving J, Scuba Dice, Tarrintino, Hovercraft Pirates, The Rumors and Marble Chips – semi finalists for 2fm’s Blast Beat competition.
The event will also feature local bands including Indium, No Punk Intended, and Tranzend. As well as the musical attractions of the day there will be food stalls and a market with jewellery and an array of clothes stalls to suit the needs of festival-goers.
Tickets cost €22, with 10% going to Barratstown Children’s charity and are available from local outlets and www.futuresoundsfestival.com.
