Singer-songwriter Francie Conway has just released a new song entitled ‘Peace, Love & Rock ‘N’ Roll.’
Francie Conway had originally worked on the new single with the legendary producer David Richards before he sadly passed away in 2013. Richards is probably best known for his work with Queen and David Bowie.
Prior to his death, David Richards had described the new song as a “hit and timeless recording".
Richards' death resulted in Francie being unable to release the song at the time. It is only now finally seeing the light of day after Francie went last year to a studio in Switzerland to track down the work files and the final mix of the song he had been working on with Richards.
Francie “had the honour of playing” David Bowie’s guitar on the intro for the new song and even used Freddie Mercury’s mic to record the vocals. David and Francie played all the instruments, and are joined by Viv & Chris White from legendary band The Zombies on backing vocals.
Francie – a founder member of The Rock School in Ballyfermot –first came on the music scene with the Kerry-based band Clutch, before he went on to sign a major deal with RCA Records in the early 1980s. His first recording for the major label included musicians from the legendary band Argent and Tim Renwick, who went on to later perform with Pink Floyd.
Francie Conway is also well known for his long association with Finbar Furey, The Furey Brothers, and Christy Dignam of Aslan.
