Fontaines D.C. forced to cancel South American dates due to Grian Chatten injury
"We are very grateful for all your support and, with all my heart, I am sorry that I can't play for you," Grian Chatten wrote to Fontaines D.C.'s Instagram Story.
Fontaines D.C. have cancelled multiple South American concert dates due to an injury sustained by frontman Grian Chatten.
Chatten announced on the band's Instagram Story that he suffered a herniated disc, which necessitated cancelling the following shows;
- March 18 - Mexico City, Mexico
- March 21 - Santiago, Chile
- March 24 - San Isidro, Argentina
- March 28 - São Paulo, Brazil
- March 30 - Bogotá, Colombia
"I am devastated to announce that, due to a herniated disc, we must cancel our show in Mexico tomorrow night and our forthcoming dates in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia," Chatten wrote.
"I have been really excited to play these beautiful countries for years and it really hurts to be here in Mexico City and not be able to go onstage, but I have been advised today, that I require urgent medical attention," he added.
At the time of writing, there is no indication that the cancelled dates will be rescheduled.
The cancellations follow the band's Japan, New Zealand and Australia tour earlier this month. It is not clear if Chatten's injury will affect Fontaines D.C.'s upcoming North American tour, due to kick off in mid-April.
