FM Belfast ready for Set Theatre show
The Icelandic quintet's performance on Saturday will be their only Irish date
Icelandic electro-poppers FM Belfast are limbering up to hit Kilkenny this weekend – the only Irish date on their tour.
The quintet, who may well take the place of Iceland's national soccer team in terms of the nation's best-kept secret, started out life as a studio project, but a storming showing at the Airwaves Festival in Reykavik in 2006 marked them out as a serious live proposition.
Since then, their reputation has only grown, culminating in sharing the stage with Hot Chip at that same festival this year. Their recorded output, meanwhile, also turns its share of heads – and with an eagerly-awaited fourth album slated for release this Winter, they should be at the top of their game in the Marble City.
They hit the Set Theatre as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival this Saturday; tickets, priced at €20/€22, are available from [link]kilkennyarts.ie[/link].
