A first look at the tracklist for the Shane MacGowan tribute album, out November 13, has been revealed. 20th Century Paddy - The Songs of Shane MacGowan will feature some of the biggest names in Irish and international music.
As for now, information about five tracks has been released. The songs will feature the likes of David Gray on 'The Old Main Drag,' Lisa Moorish and Another Day on 'Rain Street,' Madra Salach on 'Turkish Song Of The Damned,' Primal Scream on 'A Pair Of Brown Eyes,' as well as The Jesus and Mary Chain on 'I'll Be Your Handbag.'
Other previously announced artists to feature on the album include international stars like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits and The Libertines, as well as Irish heroes like Hozier, Jessie Buckley, Amble, and The Pogues themselves, among many others.
The project was put together by MacGowan's widow Victoria Mary Clarke and her manager John Kennedy.
Last month, Springsteen's rendition of 'A Rainy Night in Soho' from the record was released. It was another cover of the same song, performed by Nick Cave at MacGowan's funeral in 2023, that sparked the idea for the album in the first place.
50% of artist royalties from the record will be donated to the Dublin Simon Community. The current list of names of those taking part is already at the 30+ mark, with more to be announced.
The record includes a limited edition Deluxe Bookpack featuring 3LPs, 2CDs, and a 56-page book of memorabilia and liner notes. You can preorder it here.
