The record comes out on September 17.
Irish traditional and folk artist Fiona Tyndall has announced the release of her full Irish-language album, Éinin an Cheóil, for September 17.
Recorded in Oakley Studios in Blackrock, Dublin and Shorefire Studios in Longbranch, New Jersey, the album was produced by Brendan Hayes and mixed/mastered in BAZ Studios, Portumna, Co. Galway.
Described as “a highly personal and passionate collection”, the album was inspired by Tyndall’s father, Buadhach Tóibín, a traditional singer and collector of Irish music. It contains songs from a collection of 200 that her father had written in the old Irish script, in a bound ledger, before his passing.
A carefully archived digital copy of her father’s manuscript of songs will be available to view at the Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) in Dublin shortly before Éinin an Cheóil’s release.
