Face lift for Cobblestone?
Shake ups at Smilthfield's The Cobblestone sees acts cancelled and venues changed
We’ve got some good news and some bad news for y’all today, folks. (Well, it is Friday 13th after all).
Bad news: The Northside’s best-loved venue, The Cobblestone, is to undergo a structural overhall disrupting scheduled shows until January 2003 while work is carried out to meet the criteria for new restrictions imposed on the capacity of the upstairs venue. This has, sadly, resulted in the cancellation of several gigs including Kevin Doherty and the concerts that do remain are restricted in numbers. Boo!
Good news: The good Cobblestonians have salvaged the jetsam, and shall be relocating a selection of gigs (listed below) to the cosy confines of Mother Redcaps in Christchurch. Atmosphere and sound quality shall not be compromised, with the assurance of a kick ass PA, strategically placed candles and even a little "shush" ing (where appropriate). Yay!
Paul McGrattan @ Morans Hotel, Talbot St. – Dec 18
Scullion @ Mother Redcaps – Dec 20
Dejimbe @ Mother Redcaps – Dec 22
John Spillane @ Mother Redcaps – Dec 27
Eleanor Shanley, Frankie Lane + Paul Kelly @ Mother Redcaps – Dec 28
