Exit additions + Belle and Sebastian announce Primavera Sound competition
You could be going to Barcelona for free!
The Serbian festival that Team Hot Press had absurd amounts of fun at a few years ago, Exit, has just added Grinderman, Fedde Le Grand and Joris Voorn to a bill, which already includes Arcade Fire, Hadouken! and Portishead who we fully expect to see a few months later at the Electric Picnic.
Taking place from July 7 to 10, the Novi Sad bash will feature 400 acts spread across 20 stages and has Early Bird tickets up for grabs from [link]www.etickets.to/exit[/link] at a recession-busting £89 with camping next to the Danube an extra £25.
Meanwhile, Battles, Caribou, Fleet Foxes, Gold Panda, Grinderman, James Blake, Jamie xx, PiL, PJ Harvey, Pulp, Sufjan Stevens, Suicide, The Flaming Lips, The Vaccines, The National and Yuck are 16 of the reasons why we are so going to be in Barcelona between May 26 to 28 for Primavera Sound.
Two more are Mercury Rev playing the whole of Deserter’s Songs and Echo & The Bunnymen trotting out Heaven Up Here and Crocodiles in their entirety.
Also on the bill are Belle and Sebastian who are running a virtual raffle for an all expenses paid trip to the festival. Tickets are €5 and proceeds go to the good folk at Concern. There are also signed slabs of vinyl and other goodies for the runners-up.
“We played at the Concern Concert for Africa back in 2003 – we like what they do and how they do it,” enthuses B and S keyboard-player Chris Geddes.
