Exclusive! Mighty Stef records football protest song
Dublin-based artist The Mighty Stef has revealed to Hot Press that he has recorded a studio version of the song he wrote in response to Ireland's football defeat in Paris last week.
A home recording of the song, tentatively titled 'Protest Song With No Name', has already appeared on YouTube.
As the man himself revealed to Hot Press, "I just wanted to reflect my disappointment at the way the match turned out. I was so devastated by the unfairness of it that I didn't even turn on the tv or read the papers the next day, and I wrote the song to express my deep disappointment. I wanted
to express my own feelings through the song, that's all. I would like people to keep their comments free of any kind of hatred. There is enough of that shite fucking up our already fucked-up universe as it is. I don't want people to become anti-France racists. It's also important to keep the whole
thing in perspective. It's only a game after all, and with the flooding and jobs problems and the recession, there are more important things to really worry about."

No release date has been set for the studio version.
