Esbjorn Svensson Trio to play Cork
Swedish jazzers The Esbjorn Svensson Trio are to touch down in Ireland as part of the Cork International Jazz Festival.
The band - known for playing in rock venues - will play in at the Everyman Palace Theatre on 26th October, as well as performing in Belfast's Elwood Hall venue on October 24th.
The trio - led by pianist Esbjorn Svensson, 1995 and 1996 Swedish Jazz Musician of the year - have scooped critical plaudits as prestigious as the 2004 Hans Koller Artist of the Year award. However, they've managed to match that with popular appeal: album Viaticum the best-selling instrumental album in Europe in 2005.
Tickets for the Cork date are on-sale from www.corkjazzfestival.com from September 1.
