Eddie's Gun
Fans of MTV2 will be aware of this gem of a tune. From the moment Luke Pritchard sings the line “Did you see the way she looks at me?” you know you’re in for a slice of sublime geeky indie-pop.

At its heart, ‘Eddie's Gun’ is a scuzzy high school pop song of love and lust. Like an updated version of Phil Spector’s '50s and '60s classics, it moves with a bounce and a swing. Pritchard’s lyrics echo the similarly kooky Rivers Cuomo (of Weezer), while the fresh-faced vocals are underpinned by a backing track that sounds like Supergrass' ‘Caught by the Fuzz’ – ever so slightly mellowed out after dropping an E. Two minutes of heavenly pop. Genius.
