Dublin's commercial broadcasters suffer
There’s disappointing news for Dublin’s commercial broadcasters in the new JNLR book, with many of them losing listeners or market share to RTÉ Radio One, 2fm and Today FM.
The various market shares – that’s weekday 7am to 7pm listenership – for the various stations is:
Spin 1038 was 5.3%, down to 5.2%
98FM was 12.7%, now 11.7%
FM104 was 12.7%, now 12.5%
Q102 was 6.4%, now 6.3%
Dublin’s Country was 2.4%, now 2.5%
Phantom 105.2 was 1.2%, now 1.2%
Phantom, who recently celebrated their first birthday (and won Music Station of the Year at the PPI Radio Awards), had a ‘listened to yesterday’ audience of 18,000, with 43,000 tuning in across the listening week.
