Drogheda punk history book launches with August 28 & 29 double-whammy of events
We're very much looking forward to the Subvert All Power Parade Of Dissent!
Team Hot Press are looking forward to getting their mitts on Subvert All Power: Drogheda’s Punk Rock History, a “collection of essays, articles, images and interviews” curated by artist Seamus Nolan in conjunction with the Upstate Theatre Project.
The book is being launched on Saturday August 28 with a 3pm-5pm event in the Droichead Arts Centre at which Dave Lordan, Paddy Dillon and Nigel Rolfe, AKA the bloke with his head in the dustbin on Therapy?’s Troublegum album cover, will perform.
Orla Ryan will also present on feminist punk culture as it emerged in the 1970s. The spiky-haired action continues at 2pm the following day at Laurence Gate with a Parade Of Dissent followed by a punk picnic and free outdoor gig in Barlow House with UDCP, Guerilla Aerial, The Marxmen, The Black Pitts and The Delta Devils among the live draws.
