Demonstration planned for KNEECAP's Mo Chara at Westminster Magistrates' Court
The demonstration will feature musical performances by Na Cairde Collective and Speit.
Irish in London for Palestine have announced a protest in support of KNEECAP’s Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, aka Mo Chara, during his hearing in London on Friday.
The 'Fenian Fleadh Cheoil' is set to feature a lineup of musicians including the Na Cairde Collective and Speit, along with speeches by Sinn Féin MP John Finucane, pro-Palestine barrister Franck Magennis, Doctor Rahmeh Al Adwan and more.
"No attempt by the UK government to divert attention can obscure the atrocities it is complicit in supporting," said Irish in London for Palestine on Instagram.
"We call on all who stand for justice and humanity to intensify their efforts in support of the Palestinian people. We cannot and must not rest until these crimes are brought to an end and accountability is secured. Saoirse Don Phalaistín."
The demonstration is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. outside the Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.

KNEECAP posted about the demonstration on X, writing of Friday's hearing, "the witch-hunt continues."
"[Israeli President] Isaac Herzog, a man the UN says is complicit in genocide, was welcomed to Downing Street last week for tea," said KNEECAP, referring to Herzog's London visit earlier this month.
"Mo Chara meanwhile, who has spoken against genocide across the world, they allege is a terrorist. We will not [stop] speaking out. We will not be silent."
Mo Chara was charged with terrorism for allegedly holding a Hezbollah flag at a November 2024 concert. The band said the flag was thrown on stage and denied supporting Hezbollah.
They argued that the charges are politically motivated for their criticism of Israel's occupation of Gaza and of British presence in Ireland.
After a hearing in June, Ó hAnnaidh was released on unconditional bail and appeared at the Westminster Magistrates' Court in London for legal arguments on August 20, which concluded with judgment reserved.
A similar demonstration was held in August by Love Music Hate Racism, with performances from Nadine Shah, Gurriers, Maverick Sabre, Biig Piig, Jelani Blackman and more.
At the next court date this Friday, the judge will give a ruling as to whether a plea is required and if a full trial is to go ahead.
