Bob Vylan say Independent Ireland councillor is "on the guest list" for Dublin gig after dropped legal challenge
"Linda de Courcy didn’t even show up to the proceedings that she brought about," Bob Vylan said. "No hard feelings though, your name will be on the guest list +1, bring Ken Flynn. You two can enjoy yourselves."
Punk rap duo Bob Vylan have said Independent Ireland councillor Linda de Courcy will be "on the guest list" at their Dublin gig next week after her attempted legal challenge to their gig was dropped.
On September 29, de Courcy told the Dublin District Court she was legally objecting to Vicar Street's license, citing alleged concerns related to Bob Vylan's planned gig.
She claimed fellow Independent Ireland TD Ken O'Flynn wrote to Vicar Street but did not recieve a response, which O'Flynn did not confirm nor support.
While speaking to reporters at Leinster House on 30 September, O'Flynn said he disagreed with Bob Vylan's rhetoric but did not wish to deny their right to free expression.
The Court told de Courcy any objections must be set out in writing within a span of three weeks, after which Vicar Street could issue a response.
When the case resumed yesterday, a legal representative for Vicar Street told the judge it appeared de Courcy had not attended the proceedings.
As a result, the objection was dropped and the judge granted Vicar Street its dance licence.
Responding in a post on X, Bob Vylan described the whole ordeal as "a waste of time."
"Linda de Courcy didn’t even show up to the proceedings that she brought about," Bob Vylan said.
"No hard feelings though, your name will be on the guest list +1, bring Ken Flynn. You two can enjoy yourselves."

Bob Vylan have faced several cancellations and challenges, with most citing their Glastonbury performance where they led a chant of "death, death to the IDF" in reference to the Israel Defence Forces.
As a result of the chant, the Avon and Somerset Police launched a criminal investigation into the band and their U.S. visas were revoked, forcing them to cancel their autumn U.S. tour.
In September, their planned gig in the Netherlands was cancelled over comments they made on stage about Charlie Kirk's death. While performing at Amsterdam's Paradiso, frontman Bobby Vylan called the American conservative influencer "an absolute piece of shit of a human being."
As a result, the 013 music venue in Tilburg cancelled the band's planned September 16 show, writing in a statement the comments "no longer fall within the scope of what we can offer a platform."
Bob Vylan's sold out Vicar Street gig is set to go ahead as planned.
