My Bloody Valentine join No Music For Genocide streaming boycott
No Music For Genocide reported Paul Weller's and Massive Attack's earlier requests to geo-block their music from Israel have recently been approved by their respective labels.
My Bloody Valentine have pledged to remove their music from streaming services in Israel as part of the No Music For Genocide movement.
Launched in September, No Music For Genocide describes itself as a "cultural boycott" in response to Israel's treatment of Palestinians, widespread censorship of those who speak out for Gaza and the music industry's ties to the Israeli military.
They encourage all interested artists and labels to join them in geo-blocking and removing their music from streaming services in Israel. The full list of over 10,000 artists and labels is on their website.
Denzel Curry, Shygirl and Saba were also among the new additions to the list.
Previously listed artists include KNEECAP, Fontaines D.C., Björk, Paramore, Hayley Williams, Faye Webster, Primal Scream, The Mary Wallopers, Amyl and The Sniffers, Lorde, Clairo, Wolf Alice, Lucy Dacus, AURORA, Of Monsters and Men, Wet Leg and record label FAMM, which represents Irish band Bricknasty.
No Music For Genocide reported Paul Weller's and Massive Attack's earlier requests to geo-block their music from Israel have recently been approved by their respective labels.
Last week, My Bloody Valentine performed their first concert in seven years, a surprise gig at Dublin's National Stadium. They also played a sold-out gig at 3Arena on Saturday, November 22.
"Our resolve remains unshaken by 'agreements' imposed by outside agitators under the threat of full-scale genocide," said No Music For Genocide in an Instagram post on Monday.
"They perpetuate Israeli rule over Palestine and aim to defuse the worldwide fight for justice. We call on all artist and label boycotters to double down. Encourage your peers to join the boycott. Refuse to perform in Israel or for Israeli-backed institutions. Reject sponsorships from BDS targets.
"Fight for territory carveouts in current and future contract negotiations. Ensure your geoblocks are still active. Continue to challenge complicit music companies and organizations wherever you find them. And learn more about the links between our neighborhoods, the weapons organizations operating within them, and Israel’s incessant violence."

The news came after hundreds of violations of the ceasefire agreed to under the peace deal signed by Israel and Hamas on October 10.
On October 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to carry out "powerful" attacks on Gaza City. Israeli officials claimed the strikes were in response to an attack by Hamas which killed one Israeli soldier.
The subsequent overnight attacks killed at least 104 Palestinians, including 46 children, and wounded at least 253, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
The Government Media Office in Gaza said Israel violated the ceasefire agreement at least 497 times from October 10 to November 22.
At the time of writing, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported at least 345 Palestinians have been killed and 889 injured by Israeli attacks since October 10.
