Dec Pierce announces Block Rockin' Beats shows for Dublin and Castlebar
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 am.
Dec Pierce has announced two Block Rockin' Beats shows - one at Dublin's Vicar Street on December 5 and another at Castlebar's TF Royal Theatre on December 29.
Pierce's Block Rockin' Beats is the live music project of his Today FM radio show of the same name. It is brought to life by a full band and special guest vocalists.
"The show is all about energy, nostalgia and fun," he said. "We want you to completely lose yourself for a few hours. It's more than a gig; it's a trip back through the anthems that shaped us."
In August, the broadcaster and DJ performed the show at Wexford's Live at the Breakwater and Limerick's Live at the Docklands.
He also released his EP Reimagined (Vol. 1) from his live music project on July 13. It includes contemporary reworks of 'Cafe Del Mar' (1993) by Energy 52, 'Kernkraft 400' (1999) by Zombie Nation and 'Meet Her at the Love Parade' (1997) by Here Comes Da Hool. His rendition of 'Meet Her at the Love Parade' hit No. 5 on the Official Irish Homegrown Chart.
"The goal was to take the emotion and nostalgia people already have for these songs and inject them with the energy, weight, and chaos of our live show," he said. "It’s been a huge year personally and professionally. I’ve spent a lot of time rebuilding, finding my feet again, and pushing myself outside my comfort zone."
Tickets for the Block Rockin' Beats shows go on sale Friday at 10 am here.
