A Celebratory Juggernaut of Sound and Energy, Block Rockin' Beats Live at the Docklands! Billed as a concert where "rave meets rock music," Block Rockin' Beats, with Dec Pierce at the helm, rolled into Limerick's docklands on Saturday night for a live raw energy experience delivering a high-octane performance that is part DJ set, and part full-blown live band spectacle.

Kildare-based DJ and producer Jen Payne got the Limerick dance crowd in party mood with an infectious show that set the scene for an incredible night on the Shannon waterfront.

2025 marks Pierce’s 30th anniversary as a DJ, and the Live at the Docklands event was a prime example of the show's broad appeal. There was a vibrant mix of seasoned clubbers, older millennials, and a younger generation discovering these classic anthems for the first time. This blend of ages spoke volumes about the show’s ability to transcend generational divides. Rather than simply relying on nostalgia, Pierce and his band made a powerful statement by reinventing tracks from legends like Underworld, Faithless, The Prodigy, and The Chemical Brothers. And of course, for the weekend that it was, Oasis served as a Champagne Supernova deafening intro before Dec and the band came on stage.
The live band is the true engine of the show, with drum, guitar, keyboard, and fiddle performances that deconstruct and rebuild these iconic dance tracks. This fusion of electronic beats with live instrumentation created a unique sound that is both familiar and invigorating.
