David Keenan announces Irish tour
Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, December 3 at 10am.
David Keenan has announced a run of Irish headline dates for April 2026.
He is set to perform at Whelan’s, Dublin on April 14 and 15, Róisín Dubh, Galway on April 18, and Dolans, Limerick on April 19.
The shows follow the release of Focla ar Chanbhás (Words on Canvas), the Irish-language documentary that tracks Keenan over 500 days as he writes and records his latest album Modern Mythologies. Shot during a deeply personal creative phase, the film won the Best Cinematography Award at Docs Ireland.
His latest album was rated 9/10 by Hot Press, and was described as “widescreen, outward looking, world-embracing stuff. Keenan manages that difficult trick of making the personal universal and bringing Dundalk to the wider world.”
The April dates also arrive after Keenan’s recent Chasing Myth Irish tour, during which he highlighted the importance of independent and grassroots venues.
“These are grassroot venues where everything grows from,” he told Hot Press, reflecting on performing without a band and travelling with just his acoustic and electric guitars. “I have to get out and do the mileage, because I’m a travelling musician. I’ve never done anything else.”
Tickets for David Keenan’s Irish dates will go on sale Wednesday, December 3 at 10am.
