Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic reunite
Butch Vig is also on board for the next Foos album
It's as close as you'll get to Nirvana. Dave Grohl has called on his former bandmate Krist Novoselic to play bass on the new Foo Fighters album. Producer Butch Vig will be overseeing the whole thing, so Novoselic's guest turn will throw three-quarters of the men behind Nevermind back together again. Sure, the most important final quarter will unfortunately be missing but it should still prove a treat for grunge nostalgists the world over.
Dave Grohl has stated that the Foos' seventh studio album will be their heaviest to date with not a ballad in sight. Speaking to the BBC, the nicest man in rock said, "Each song is full on, the whole record is full on. In the 14 songs, there's not one acoustic guitar, there's not even one in the house. This whole project has been really cool. I haven't made a record with Butch for 20 years."
Expect it to drop early next year.
