The event will give patrons a chance to "experience and celebrate one of Ireland’s coolest neighborhoods."
Culture Date with Dublin 8 has announced details regarding their Late in D8 events taking place from May 7 to May 11.
Historic landmarks, museums, churches and breweries will host more than 100 curated activities ranging from gigs, to late-night parties to cultural events. While some events are free, tickets for each are sold separately. This year celebrates 250 years since the birth of Daniel O’Connell, former Lord Mayor of Dublin, with a free concert in Goldenbridge Cemetery on the final day of the festival.
“We’re thrilled to support this year’s Late in D8 music trail,” said he Night-Time Economy Advisor for Dublin City Council, Ray O’Donoghue. “This event will showcase DJs, live bands, and musicians performing in pubs and cultural spaces throughout the district. The festival not only honours the area’s rich historical heritage but also highlights its contemporary cultural scene by promoting local nightlife and celebrating its musicians, DJs, and artists.”
May 8 will see appearances from Abbacaxi, Bedlam DJs, Driving Blue, Natalie Moran and Gea Geansaí. Other musical acts include The Goaties, Aleka Potinga and the Irish Women in Jazz.

On May 9, the Tailors Hall will host Liberation at the Back Lane Parliament, an event featuring spoken word poetry, music, art and performance. Throwing Shapes, the Community Ceramics Studio, will also host a free party celebrating their one-year anniversary, while the Dublin Liberties Distillery will hold a comedy competition with Dublin International Comedy Film Festival. The winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to the US.
