Creepy trailer for The Gift

Joel Edgerton the actor may have been the best thing about 2013's flawed Great Gatsby movie, but he looks eager to prove that his skills go beyond acting in The Gift, which he wrote and directed. An utterly chilling debut, by the look of it.

Featuring Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall as a married couple who move into a new house and Edgerton himself as an old high school acquaintance of Bateman's who he seems to share a dark past with, the movie details an escalating series of twisted and seemingly vengeful acts by Edgerton's character who insists that you can't escape the past.

Keep an eye on this one, coming to theaters in July.
