Ciaran Gribbin (INXS) teams up with The Uncontested

Hot Press just got our first look at The Uncontested: an alt. rock/electronica group based in Ireland and the UK who present their songs with illustrations/short stories to give an audio-visual element to them...

For his first collaboration as The Uncontested, Conor McCreanor has teamed up with current INXS vocalist Ciaran Gribbin who contributed vocals and melody to the audio and visual treat that is The Uncontested 001.

The Uncontested 001 takes place in a fictional town, and begins with with the following introduction:

"The Uncontested will be staying in this town indefinitely to observe the lives of the locals. Using songs and illustrations they document the stories of many of the towns characters."

Visitors to the EP homepage are then asked to click on the five numbered icons, each of which reveals a different song, story and set of illustrations provided by artist David McClelland. In this EP, we are introduced to a homeless war veteran, a bereaved gentleman, a mixed up girl, taken to a house party, before ending up in a club on a night out.

We should probably mention that aside from the beautiful illustrations and the interesting format of the EP, the music is also really good too!
