Christy Dignam's cancer battle to be made into RTE documentary
The RTE are planning a documentary which deals with Christy Dignam's long battle with cancer.
The Aslan frontman, who spoke about his illness in an extensive interview with Hot Press last October, was diagnosed with cancer in 2013.
Dignam continues to tour with Aslan in between treatments for his rare form of incurable cancer.
Now RTE want to create a documentary that charts the singer's battle with cancer as Aslan prepare for their Made In Dublin Revisited gig this June in the Iveagh Gardens.
Bandmate Billy McGuinness told the Irish Sun, "It [the documentary] is mostly about Christy but RTE are interviewing the rest of the band next week about how Aslan have been coping with his illness."
It's believed that the documentary got the green light after a spine-tingling video emerged of Christy and Finbarr Furey singing the Green Fields of France on The Late Late Show last year.
