25-year old, Dublin-based singer-songwriter Derrick Devine gears up for 2003 with this four-track release. You know the drill: hushed vocals, acoustic guitar, the occasional discreetly brushed drum. Not my cup of tea exactly, although bonus marks are in order for the excellent closing track, ‘To Shrink You’, which features some nice interplay between haunting church organ and delicately plucked acoustic guitar. Fans of the genre could do worse than checking this out.
