What a weekend for festivals, what with Le Cheile, Mitchelstown, Hi:Fi and Castlepalooza having taken place this bank holiday weekend. But don't rest your weary head down just yet, for the latter festival has already started on Castlepalooza 2007.
After the "resounding success" of this year's festival, which saw the likes of The Blizzards, Republic Of Loose, Neosupervital and the Hot Press-chosen The Gorgeous Colours and The Chakras play in front of a thousand-odd crowd, 2007 is already in progress.
"The entire weekend ran very smoothly thanks to a massive effort from the team of volunteers and crew. There were absolutely no complaints from anyone at Castlepalooza. In fact, one of the weekend's most popular phrases was: 'Oh my God, it actually flushes - and there's toilet paper!'" said organiser Cillian Stewart.
"The festival was a resounding success for all involved and we're already putting plans in place for next year's show," he confirmed.
The event took place at Charleville Castle in Tullamore, and funds from the festival will go towards the restoration of the historic building and its grounds.
