Calling all artists: eircom MusicHub at The Music Show

eircom MusicHub would like to talk to artists at The Music Show about getting their music onto the MusicHub service.
 
A positive step in the battle against piracy, the eircom online music service boasts a library of more than four million tracks and is IRMA approved. It provides eircom customers with free and unlimited streaming. A large part of eircom's plan is to promote new Irish talent and what better way to tap into this talent than at The Music Show.  
“We would like to work with young bands to get their music on to the MusicHub service,” said Dervilla Mullan, Director of Online at eircom. “It’s quite an easy process to begin using it as a distribution platform. It is one of our strengths. We have relationships with a large number of aggregators so it’s very simple for bands to sign up and then be on the service within a couple of weeks.” 
On the shift to legal downloading and streaming, which eircom MusicHub offers, Dervilla says raising awareness is the most important thing. “Getting people to change their day-to-day music consumption patterns and make this their primary source is a big ask,” She admits. “It’s quite a behavioural shift. But there is no catch, it is unlimited. There’s no ads and the quality is fantastic. We’re starting to see it really work and those who use it regularly absolutely love it.”
The Music Show 2012, presented by Hot Press in association with RTE 2fm, runs from February 25-26 in The RDS, Dublin.
