The punk brewers are looking to open their own bar in Dublin.
Team Hop Press can’t wait to get its laughing gear round Hello My Name Is Niamh, a limited-edition BrewDog Double IPA brewed as ‘a gesture of gratitude for its ‘passionate punks in Ireland.’
“The name of the beer was crowdsourced from BrewDog’s Irish fans, who chose to pay tribute to notions of heritage and tradition, settling on Niamh, one of the queens of Tír na nÓg, and the daughter of the god of the sea in Irish mythology,” the Glaswegian beer-meisters reveal. “Hello My Name is Niamh is infused with elderflower which grows in abundance across fields and parks in Ireland and has been used in brewing and distilling for centuries. Ireland has long been a key export market for BrewDog. The brewery is currently scouting for a location for a bar of its own in Dublin. Last year, two of Ireland’s best craft brewers, The White Hag from Ballymote, and Cork’s Eight Degrees brewery conducted tap takeovers at some of BrewDog’s bars in the UK."
BrewDog cofounder James Watt adds: “Ireland has some of the most creative and boundary pushing craft brewers in Europe. The craft beer revolution keeps going from strength to strength, and we’re proud to have relationships with some of the new breweries that will define the next chapter of brewing in Ireland. We hope Hello My Name is Niamh will inspire more brewers and bring in thousands more to the craft side.”
