Ahead of Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers & Chic's double-headliner gig in Malahide Castle next Monday, Hot Press Classics returns with a special episode examining Rodgers' career and Duran Duran's 1982 new wave classic, Rio.
In the episode, Paul Nolan discusses Duran Duran's inception in 1978 and their role in the New Romantic scene, the band's incredible melodic flair and lyrical talent, as well as the iconic visual elements of Rio.
Then, Nolan is joined by Stuart Clark to discuss Rodgers' superstar production outputs with the likes of David Bowie, Madonna and Duran Duran, his incredible work ethics and his contributions with Hot Press over the years, including his appearance at the Hot Press chatroom at Forbidden Fruit.
To round up the episode, Nolan brings back an interview with Rodgers' dating back from 2018, where he discussed his relationship with Ireland, which he has visited regularly over the course of his career, his work with a number of legendary artists including Bowie's 'Let's Dance', and his relationship with Bernard Edwards and Chic over the years.
