Bray musician reaches semi-finals of MTV competition
Bray musician Padraig Rushe is through to the semi-finals of MTV’s 'Get Seen Get Heard' talent search, which is being run in association with the Oxjam music festival.
Like all the other first round entrants, Rushe uploaded a video of his performance at last year’s Oxjam onto the MTV website where it was part of the public judging process that attracted over 200,000 votes.
Up for grabs is a place in the live studio final, and a first prize of a Spanking New Session that’ll doubtless be scrutinised by huge numbers of A&R people.
“Oxjam is a rare opportunity for unsigned bands to give their own music career a boost whilst doing something charitable,” comments MTV Music Marketing Manager Alexandra Johnson. “Last year, we were thrilled to find a wealth of promising new artists such as Padraig Rushe amongst the hundreds who performed at Oxjam gigs. The festival is set to kick off again later this year, so whatever sort of music you play, get involved.”
Irish born and American raised, Rushe formerly released three albums as a member of the Dublin Gospel Choir.
