Boyzone confirm single release
'Gave It All Away' features one of Stephen Gately's last studio performances.
Boyzone have confirmed the February 26 release of ‘Gave It All Away’, the first single to be lifted from their new album, which follows in March.
Written by Mika, it includes vocals that Stephen Gately recorded shortly before his tragic death.
“We found it really hard to make the video and the footage is incredibly raw and tough to watch at times,” Ronan Keating reflects. “But we didn’t want it being too mournful all the way through. There’s a nice scene of us four brothers sat around a table at the end with Stephen’s favourite picture hanging up behind us. It’s us reminiscing about the good times and the laughter we had with our other brother.”
Adds Shane Lynch: “It was a very hard shoot for us to do but also enjoyable in a way as we all felt Steo around us that day. For me the single feels like the end of an old chapter but also the beginning of a new one for us all and we know we’re continuing on for the right reason.”
