Boyz II Men announce Dublin date
R'n'B veterans Boyz II Men will be playing Dublin next March.
The Philadelphia crooners will be in Tripod on March 2, showcasing their new album of classic Motown covers Motown: Hitsville USA. It features versions of Marvin Gaye's 'Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)', Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' 'The Tracks of My Tears', The Temptations' 'Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)', Edwin Starr's 'War', and the Stevie Wonder tracks 'I Was Made to Love Her' and 'Ribbon In the Sky.'
Boyz II Men became one of the most commercially successful pop/R'n'B acts ever during the 1990s, with a string of hit albums, singles and awards to their name. The band became a three-piece in 2003 after longstanding member Michael McCary was forced into retirement by a debilitating spinal illness. 2008 sees them approaching 20 years together as a band.
Tickets for their Dublin show are €37.50/€42.50 and are available from Ticketmaster, Road Records, City Discs, Sound Cellar and usual outlets.
