Bombay Bicycle Club express distaste in stadium tour

Speaking to Digital Spy, Bombay Bicycle Club spoke of their negative experience recently playing at a stadium and their plans to avoid any type of stadium tour in the future.

"We were doing a festival in a stadium, which was quite strange," said guitarist Jamie MacColl, describing the band's recent experience at a Warsaw stadium. "It put me off playing stadiums so it might be the only stadium we ever do."

A major factor in the band's dissatisfaction is the acoustics of the stadium shows.

"They're so big and reverberant that you play a note and then you hear it a good 5 seconds later coming back at you so it sounds like a complete mess, unlike anything we've ever heard before," said bassist Ed Nash.

When asked what if they would ever attempt a stadium tour, the band stipulated that only if it was the smallest stadium tour in the world, hitting places such as Grimsby Town and the stadiums of the lower levels of the English football pyramid.

Bombay Bicycle Club will be preforming at Longitude July 18, a possible precursor to a League of Ireland stadium tour. Watch their latest video, for 'Come To', below.
