Bettye LaVette to play Dublin's Village
The American soul legend will play a rare Irish show in June
Bettye LaVette, the Detroit soul and gospel singer, will play a one-off show at Dublin's Village on June 11.
The singer, who was discovered at the age of 16 by legendary Motor City music raconteur Johnnie Mae Matthews, has enjoyed a career spanning over three decades, with hits like 'Let Me Down Easy' and 'Hey Love'.
LaVette is also known for her soulful renditions of contemporary pop and rocks songs, and her upcoming album Interpretations features covers of tracks by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
