Another whopper from the man who brought us ‘True Friends’, although this is a considerably different kettle of Fish. Gerry’s voice slips into wasted Waitsean mode for a song that neatly collages slinky rockabilly, a barrelhouse piano, a good-time chorus and occasional Indian overtones. It’s charming and inventive, has a great hook and a side-order of common-sense Piscean philosophy. As a bonus you get to hear Anuna as never before and two tracks with Mundy guesting.
