Arctic Monkeys return with first track from new War Child album – which will also feature Fontaines D.C., Dove Ellis and more
The upcoming album's first single, 'Opening Night', performed by the Arctic Monkeys, is out now.
War Child have announced their upcoming HELP(2) LP, set to feature Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines D.C. and Dove Ellis.
The independent record label released the initial Help album in 1995, to raise money for the War Child UK charity. War Child UK provides medical aid, education and mental health support to children living in war-stricken areas across the globe, such as Ukraine, Gaza and Sudan.
The original collaborative album, led by Brian Eno, featured the likes of Sinead O'Connor, Oasis, Paul McCartney, Radiohead and The Stone Roses. The record raised over £1.2 million [€1.4 million], providing vital support to children caught in the Bosnian conflict.
The first single off of HELP(2), 'Opening Night' performed by The Arctic Monkeys, was released today. This marks the Arctic Monkey's first release since dropping The Car in 2022. Other artists set to feature on the charity record include Cameron Winter, Pulp, Olivia Rodrigo, Arlo Parks and The Last Dinner Party.

Oscar-winning filmmaker, Johnathan Glazer, known for The Zone of Interest (2023), worked as Creative Director for the project, with James Ford operating as Executive Producer.
"The experience of making the album itself has been very powerful, and dare I say life affirming for me personally, against the backdrop of a very difficult year," said Ford. "I’m extremely proud of the results and of the efforts made by all involved. I can’t wait for people to hear this very special record.”
The album was predominately recorded over one week in Abbey Road Studios this past November and will be released on March 6. All proceeds from the record will go towards War Child UK.
