To further celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album Moon Safari, Air announced a deluxe edition release alongside the addition of new live show dates at Trinity College Dublin in June.
After celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album last year, French electro-pop duo Air have announced a deluxe Moon Safari audio-video package to be released on March 8 via Parlophone/ Warner Music.
The album reissue is set to include a Spatial Dolby Atmos version of the original album including a handful of unreleased tracks and Mike Mill’s 1998 documentary ‘Eating Sleeping, Waiting & Playing,’ which details the band’s first world tour experience.
The reissue comes coupled with a highly anticipated European tour this February and March where the duo will play the iconic album in its entirety for the first time ever. After selling out each tour date in record time, Air have announced the addition of new dates spreading into late spring and summer, including an appearance at The Summer Series at Trinity College Dublin.
Air, made up of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, were catapulted into the electronic music scene following the album’s initial release in 1998, leaving an imprint on popular culture that has lasted decades.
“We were a duo doing some electronic thing, dreaming of selling 10,000 copies and being recognized by other musicians as cool,” said Dunckel. “Then suddenly, we met the world.”
Described by Dunckel as “a deep, universal spell, full of love and mystery,” Moon Safari has birthed hit singles like ‘Kelly Watch the Stars,’ ‘All I Need’ and ‘Sexy Boy,’ selling millions of copies around the world.
“To me,” said Godin, “Moon Safari is perfect.”
