Denise Chaila, Emma Langford, and Denis Allen to play victorious Limerick hurlers' homecoming
The homecoming for the Limerick hurlers will take place in the TUS Gaelic Grounds this evening, July 18, from 5pm.
The All Ireland winning Limerick hurlers will return to their headquarters at the Tus Gaelic Grounds for their homecoming this evening (July 18). However, the victorious hurlers won't be the only Limerick stars taking to the stage.
Narolane's Denise Chaila will be joined by Emma Langford and Denis Allen to entertain a crowd of thousands at the stadium ahead of the the hurlers' arrival on stage. The trio will provide the warm-up for the three-in-a-row winners, who will arrive on stage at approximately 7pm.
Chaila is a known Limerick GAA supporter, having received a signed jersey from the Limerick panel prior to her support slot for Ed Sheeran on his stadium tour.
The performance comes after a hilarious Twitter exchange by the much-loved Limerick musicians Langford and Chaila. After the third All Ireland win in a row by the Limerick sports stars, 'Birdsong' singer Emma Langford tweeted: "I will be at the homecoming tomorrow and I will shift(kiss) the entire team." Chaila replied to the tweet saying: "I will help you." Following this was a hysterical exchange between the two, eventually culminating in the two now playing the homecoming together.

Now dubbed #ShiftFest2022, even previous Mayor of Limerick, Councillor Daniel Butler, share his excitement at the possibility of hearing Chaila's iconic '061' performed at this groundbreaking homecoming ceremony.
The Liam MacCarthy winning panel will arrive at Limerick Colbert station and travel by open-topped bus down Mallow Street, Henry Street and the Ennis Road before arriving at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Spectators have been asked to gather at the Gaelic Grounds and not the railway station.
The homecoming is a ticket-only event with tickets available now here. The tickets are free but a booking fee of €2 will apply. Any surplus money raised from the event will go to charity.
Tickets are available on a first come first served basis, and will be limited to nine tickets per transaction.
Fans will have the option to sit or stand at the event, with seated tickets in either the Mackey Stand or the North Stand, while standing tickets will be available on both the pitch and in the town end terrace. Supporters will not gain access to the TUS Gaelic Grounds without a ticket.
Gates will open at 5pm with entertainment beginning shortly afterwards. Liam Aherne will MC the evening, with the event concluding at approximately 10pm.
The family friendly event is alcohol free, and fans are advised not to bring large bags or hurls to the event.
