Think you know your recycling?: Repak Recycling Challenge returns to the Hot Press College Roadshow

Repak is teaming up with Hot Press once again this September, with prizes up for grabs as we put students' recycling knowledge to the test at selected campuses around Ireland.

Repak is an environmental not-for-profit organisation working to lead the recycling and sustainability of Ireland's packaging, while helping people to reduce, reuse and recycle better.

And while most of us probably reckon we're pretty good at recycling, there's still plenty of room to brush up on what actually goes where. Repak's National Recycling Knowledge Audit, which surveyed more than 2,000 people, found a significant gap between people's perceived and actual recycling knowledge.

That's where our Repak Recycling Challenge comes in.

We'll be putting your waste-sorting skills – and your aim – to the test with our interactive beanbag toss game! Know your Recycling from your General Waste and Food Waste, land your shot and you could walk away with some brilliant Repak prizes, including hoodies, bucket hats, speakers, notebooks, USB keys and more.

We'll also be sharing some simple tips to help you recycle properly. One of the big ones? Clean, Dry & Loose. There are three categories of materials that can go in your Recycling Bin: Paper and cardboard, plastic packaging and tins, cans and foil can all go into your household recycling bin once they're clean, dry and loose – not inside bags or bin liners.
