RTÉ favourites Smother and Kin are among the series set to air in the New Year
New series Sisters, The Dry and Love in the Country are joining returning fan favourites, Smother, Kin and Dancing With The Stars in the New Year schedule.
RTÉ’s New Years’ schedule is jam-packed, with return seasons of Kin, and Smother in February and Tommy Tiernan’s chat show renewed for 12 weeks. Dancing With The Stars fans can also look forward to January as a new cast begin their journey on the 8th January.
New dark-comedy drama, Sisters, which is about two women who discover they are half-sisters and embark on a road trip across Ireland, is set to premier in the new year.
2023 will feature Oscar-nominated actor Ciarán Hinds who stars in a new comedy-drama series, The Dry.
Reality TV will see another series of First Dates in January, and a new dating series- Love in the Country, will assist in seven rural romantics' quest to make a connection who have struggled thus far due to their locations.
Comedian Pat Shortt is joined by his daughter Faye in new series, High Road, Low Road, which will see the duo travel to Dubrovnik with very different holiday budgets.
Room to Improve is back again on the 8th January, while DIY SOS: The Bigger Build Ireland, will feature a two-part special focusing on re-housing Ukrainian refugees.
2FM Rising returns to support Irish music and artists across all platforms, with alumni in their canon consisting of Fontaines D.C., Denise Chaila, and Dermot Kennedy. The station’s Choice Prize nominees are due to be announced next month.
The 2023 schedule is set to kick off on Saturday with a broadcast of RTÉ’s New Year’s Eve Party on RTÉ One/RTÉ Player. The night’s lineup is set to feature guests like Ash, Tom Grennan, Hot House Flowers and Lyra.
The NYE Countdown Concert will also feature, where headline act Westlife’s performance will be broadcast on the night.
