New Order Documentary Delves into Band's Past
British electronica legends New Order have announced a new concert documentary entitled ‘Decades.’
The film chronicles the lead up of the band's collaboration with conceptual artist Liam Gillick and a 12-piece synthesizer orchestra prior to their So It Goes performance at Manchester International Festival 2017.
According to Sky Arts, the channel which will debut the documentary, ‘Decades’ provides "a rare chance to enter the band’s private world, understand the visual philosophy of their aesthetic and design, and witness their collaborative, creative processes first hand.”
The film will also examine moments in the band’s infamous history. The synth-pop band formed in 1980 following the break-up of their previous band, Joy Division, after vocalist Ian Curtis' suicide at 23 years of age. The documentary, directed by Mike Christie, also features interviews with the band as well as numerous past collaborators.
‘Decades’ will premiere on Sky Arts on September 22nd at 9:00 p.m.
