New cast members for Boys of Tommen announced
The series is currently in production in Ireland and expected to premiere on Prime Video sometime next year.
Eoin Macken, Amy Huberman, Róisín Gallagher, Jamie Schneider and James Craven have been announced as new additions to the cast of Boys of Tommen, a romantic drama TV series by Irish author Chloe Walsh.
Set in Cork, the series is based on the first two novels of Walsh's No. 1 New York Times bestselling series of the same name. According to an official synopsis, it follows a forbidden romance between star rugby player Johnny Kavanagh (Conor Sánchez) and new girl Shannon Lynch (Nancy Surridge). After a potentially career-ending injury for Kavanagh and a troubled home life for Lynch, the pair "battle against the odds and find a way to save each other."
Poppy Cogan adapted series one for the show and serves as executive producer alongside Walsh and director Brendan Canty, known for his film Christy and the music video for Hozier's 'Take Me To Church.'
"As someone who grew up in Cork, where these stories are set, this project feels incredibly personal to me," said Canty. "Poppy Cogan has done an amazing job adapting Chloe’s beloved books, and the way both writers capture young people’s lives with such empathy, tenderness and honesty feels truly extraordinary to me."
